Researchers at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Institute of Technology) have developed a robotic dragonfly that can fit in the palm of your hand. Device called TechJet Dragonfly, can fly and float in the air, as befits a winged insect. As the creators, the application of the robot is very broad: it can be used, for example, aerial photography, games, or espionage.
The project TechJet Dragonfly USAF allocated one million dollars. The researchers noted that the dragonfly was chosen because the insect has an aggressive style of flight, speed and maneuverability. The robot is equipped with 20 sensors, built-in Wi-Fi, four aerodynamic wings, brushless motors and lithium-polymer battery 250 mAh, providing the flight for 25-30 minutes. The device weighs only 25 grams.
Management TechJet Dragonfly can be performed from a computer, and with smartphones running mobile operating system iOS or Android (related applications are already available in the App Store and Google Play). robot dragonfly is already available on Indiegogo at a price of $ 99. The developers also offer to buy faster, more powerful version of TechJet Dragonfly for $ 179, and a set of several robots will cost $ 799.
