In order to stay afloat, Kodak sold its division Image Sensor Solutions (ISS), engaged in the development of image sensors.This step will help U.S. manufacturers to focus more attention on other areas of its activities.
Buyer was an investment fund Platinum Equity, which specializes in mergers and acquisitions of companies from different industries. The amount of the transaction were not disclosed. One of the important conditions of the contract is the possibility of future access to Kodak image sensor technology developed at the ISS. It is expected that the sale of Kodak ISS will regain profitability.
Under the deal, Platinum Equity, in addition to technologies ISS, and will have at its disposal 263 thousand square feet of manufacturing facilities.
